Memory Portraits are gemstone Cameo Portraits to honor someone who has ‘passed on’. I am sensitive to how difficult the experience of the loss can be to family and friends. Memory cameos represent almost half of my portraits. However you will see only a few examples of them on my website.

I respect the families need for privacy. My position is to not show photos of memory portrait cameos online. However, sometimes the family wants to share the story of their loved one. One such example is the Papi Viejo Portrait Cameo that I created for a family in the New York area.

Secret Cameos

With a painful loss the wearer will want to keep her portrait private. Here, Cameo Lockets are the perfect solution. The cameo portrait is set inside the Locket. Now the wearer can decide to reveal the cameo portrait when it suits her. I can hand engrave names or personal messages on the Cameo locket setting. I have been told that in many cases the recipient wears the cameo jewel almost 24 hours a day.

I can add a compartment on the reverse of the pendant made of carved quartz to contain a lock of hair. I can also hand engrave an inscription and the signature of the departed person on the reverse of the setting. If you have a Diamond created from your loved ones ashes we can add this to the cameo portrait pendant or cameo portrait locket.

Special Extras

Why not have a Calligrapher write a special poem or tribute. I can also provide an expanded photo book where I add photos taken throughout the persons life to tell their story. I did this with a recent memory cameo and the family were very pleased.
